Mining services company NRW Holdings, in joint venture with the Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundation, has been awarded a $15 million construction contract by Rio Tinto.

Mining services company NRW Holdings, in joint venture with the Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundation, has been awarded a $15 million construction contract by Rio Tinto.

 

The announcement is below:

 

NRW Holdings Limited (ASX: NWH) in a Joint Venture with the Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundation (NYFL) is pleased to announce award of the following contract.

Client: Hamersley Iron Pty Ltd

Construction of Replacement 126KP Bridge

Duration approx 15 weeks

Value approx $15 million.

NYFL is a representative group of the areas traditional owners and NRW is particularly pleased that the contract award recognises the skills of both NYFL and NRW.

The Joint Venture followed some twelve months of negotiations and the implementation of a teaming agreement that facilitated the identification of suitable projects by the partners.

The Project will employ some 65 personnel including a significant indigenous labour component.
Rio Tinto would like to add its congratulations to the JV partners, and also to commend them for the initiative in joining forces to carry out the contract,"
