The Lions Save-Sight Foundation was established by the Lions Clubs of Western Australia in 1964, and has grown to become the leading volunteer eye health organisation in Australia. The foundation works towards the prevention and treatment of eye disease, through community based programs, providing free public screenings to detect eye disease and providing major support to the Lions Eye Institute for its research. The foundation collaborated with the Lions Clubs of WA on the establishment of the Lions Eye Institute in 1974, which is recognised as the most advanced eye institution in the Southern Hemisphere. , Board: Chairman: Lorraine Strickland, Vice-chairman: To be appointed, Hon.
