The board will meet on a monthly basis commencing in March, and is based on similar boards that have been established for Mercedes Australian Fashion Week and the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Invitations to a number of additional key industry players are still to be confirmed. A recent study has found a continued increase in both the size and profitability of Western Australia’s fashion industry with the Australian Bureau of Statistics revealing that the clothing-manufacturing sector provides a significant economic contribution to WA, employing more than 2,200 people with an annual turnover of $74 million.
