The North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving club is the second oldest surf life saving club in Western Australia. It can also boast the highest membership of any surf life saving club in Australia. With many other surf clubs feeling the financial pinch with the rising costs of public liability insurance, North Cottesloe is enjoying the fruits of a deal that it struck with restaurateur Kim Gamble to rent its social hall as the venue for his Blue Duck restaurant. The club also counts a who’s who of Perth’s business establishment among its members including Malcolm McCusker QC, Marketforce managing director Howard Read and building magnates Len Buckeridge and John Roberts.
