Myer buys Marcs and David Lawrence

Myer has saved troubled luxury clothing labels Marcs and David Lawrence from extinction two months after the Australian brands hit financial strife.

The department store has bought the intellectual rights of the fashion labels following the financial collapse of their parent company M Webster Holdings in February.

Myer deputy chief executive Daniel Bracken said Marcs and David Lawrence were two of Myer's most sought after brands.
