Murdoch wins again

MURDOCH University MBA students have beaten other WA universities to win the WA round of the Boston Consulting Group Business Strategy Competition for the second consecutive year.

Murdoch MBA program chair John Krasnostein said the team of six MBA students defeated teams from the University of WA and the Curtin, Edith Cowan and Notre Dame universities. Competitors are given a 90-page case study and have just three hours to read and analyse it.

“In that time they had to develop a set of strategy recommendations while provided with a minimum of resources and strict time limits,” Mr Krasnostein said.

The BCG Strategy Competition – a management competition for tertiary students – is open to all universities in Australia and New Zealand.

The Murdoch winners – Alan Erasmus, Kate Hocking, Brendan Lalor, Sarah McGowan, Sean Pitt and Jason Riseley – will now proceed to the national round to be held in Sydney in October.
