Perth's southern suburbs have recorded the highest number of houses listed for sale in the metropolitan region with prices generally 5 per cent lower, latest figures show.
In a weekly report published today by RP Data, Thornlie had the most houses listed for sale over the past 12 months with 463 listings.
The property research firm said the median price in the southern suburb was $362,250, falling 5.3 per cent during the past year.
Other suburbs to make it into the top five were Canning Vale, median price $493,000, with 461 listings, Gosnells ($310,000) at 350 listings, Port Kennedy ($370,000) with 332 and Ballajura ($395,000) at 332 listings.
Scarborough recorded the most units listed for sale within the past 12 months with 304 at a median price of $400,000, dropping 6.8 per cent during the past year.
Como ($432,000) generated 263 unit listings, Maylands ($290,000) at 218, South Perth ($495,000) with 179 listings and Rockingham ($245,000) at 131.
