Monique Robinson
Associate principal investigator
Telethon Institute for Child Health Research

MONIQUE Robinson’s aim is to make a difference in society by working towards the prevention of child mental health problems.

Her work at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research examines the events during pregnancy that determine whether a child will develop mental health issues, and how this happens.

One in five children will experience mental health problems before they become adults, with the rate estimated to increase to one in four in the future.

With funding one of a number of challenges facing researchers, Dr Robinson was recently awarded a further four years of salary, in addition to being part of a team that received more than $1 million towards IVF research.

Dr Robinson has been recognised with a number of awards early in her career and has authored more than 30 publications in the maternal and child mental health field.
