Monadelphous wins more Ichthys work

Engineering firm Monadelphous Group has won two new contracts totalling $170 million, one of which is for further work on the Ichthys LNG project in Darwin.

In a brief statement this morning, Perth-based Monadelphous said it had been contracted by JKC Australia for structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works for the completion of gas turbine generators and associated steam piping of the combined cycle power plant at Ichthys.

It follows the awarding of a contract by Kawasaki Heavy Industries to Monadelphous earlier this month for the completion of four cryogenic tanks on the project’s onshore LNG facilities, and another contract in May for offshore maintenance services work at the project.

Separately, Monadelphous announced today its China-based fabrication business SinoStruct had secured a contract to supply about 7,000 tonnes of structural steel, plate work and conveyers to Kiewit Corporation.

Shares in Monadelphous were unchanged at $13.90 each at 10am.
