Geraldton marketing and web development agency Market Creations Pty Ltd has announced the acquisition of IT support company, Mitchell and Brown Corporate, strengthening the end to end business solutions provided by the firm in the Mid West town.
Geraldton marketing and web development agency Market Creations Pty Ltd has announced the acquisition of IT support company, Mitchell and Brown Corporate, strengthening the end to end business solutions provided by the firm in the Mid West town.
Mitchell and Brown Corporate is the technology integration arm of the greater Mitchell and Brown company which also operates a high profile Geraldton retail operation and a communications division. Its directors also own the internet service provider, WestNet.
Market Creations' acquisition of the corporate division in no way effects the operations of Mitchell and Brown's other business units.
The Manager of Mitchell and Brown Corporate, Gavin Keyser, Call Centre Manager Tania Giles and all eight computer technicians will join the Market Creations team from February 1. Initially they will continue to operate from their existing site on Chapman Road until a refit of Market Creations premises is completed. The entire team is expected to relocate to Market Creations' Foreshore Drive offices during April.
This action has been prompted by Barry Mitchell's future plans which will result in him resigning his position as managing director and reducing his active role within the group to pursue other interests.
"The reduction in my time spent at Mitchell and Brown required a need to assess our Corporate Division prompting some forward planning to ensure its continued success," Mr Mitchell said.
"The corporate division of Mitchell and Brown started out as a small computer sales and installation department with two employees, evolving over the past 12 years into a stand alone, fully functional department with a team of dedicated technicians and support staff. It has developed skills to tackle the most demanding network support jobs in the Mid West and North of the state.
"Now well and truly established as Geraldton's premier IT support company, this division has a much bigger potential, but due to my impending retirement it has been decided that the Corporate Division could be better established and located with a company that boasts similar business ethics and standards that we feel we have successfully practised.
"Market Creations is a very employee focused company and as their core business is to provide labour, it provides an ideal platform for technicians to develop their skills and provide great service in a very comfortable working environment."
Market Creations managing director Darren Lee said there was a strong strategic fit between the two businesses.
"Like Market Creations, Mitchell and Brown Corporate is primarily a people business supplying expertise on a time billing basis, only in this case it is integrated computer and technology solutions rather than marketing and web development ones," he said.
"Further, they sell and supply hardware and software solutions. This fits the business model of Market Creations and the primary and secondary markets we each serve are also aligned.
"The convergence of the media and technology makes this a strong fit for the future as more businesses will seek out an end to end relationship partner that can assist them with a holistic approach to their business requirements.
"The "one-stop-shop" adage we have often applied to marketing services at Market Creations has essentially been made more robust."
