DEVELOPER Mirvac has capped off the year in style with more than $116 million in sales made last week for the 96 apartments sold off-the-plan at its 21-storey Aurora development at The Peninsula, Burswood. More than 400 people are understood to have paid $2,500 to register their interest in the fourth and latest project. The two-, three- and four-bedroom apartment designs ranged in price from $850,000 to $2.5 million, with the average price of more than $1 million. Aurora has a total of 130 apartments and three penthouses and boasts views over Burswood Park Golf Course, Swan River, Perth CBD and the Darling Ranges. Residents have access to a gymnasium, outdoor heated swimming pool, Christopher Hiller’s gourmet cafe/delicatessen and Katie Stewart’s Health Club & Spa, which opens next year. Mirvac general manager development WA Evan Campbell said the company had sold more than $450 million worth apartments at The Peninsula since the launch of the first apartment building. Construction of Aurora will begin in mid-2007 with completion forecast for 2010. About 450 high-rise apartments have been sold at The Peninsula since 2003 and the company plans to build a further three towers, creating a community of 3,000 people. In early 2007, Mirvac will release seven, three-storey executive terraced homes facing Circular Park to its VIP clients featuring three bedrooms, three bathrooms and an additional lifestyle or guest room. Mirvac’s VIP clients have already snapped up 48 terrace and courtyard homes to date.
