Azure Capital managing director Michael Minosora has joined the executive team at Fortescue Metals Group as part of a reshuffle in a bid to sustain operations in the current economic climate.
Mr Minosora will become the chief financial officer, taking over from Chris Catlow who will concentrate on investment and business development and take responsibility for investor relations.
Gordon Cowe has been appointed divisional director responsible for strategic development with responsibility for expansion programs.
Paul Hallam has been appointed divisional director of operations with responsibility for port, rail and mining.
Of the existing team, Graeme Rowley will be responsible for public policy and corporate affairs, Russell Scrimshaw will take on sales and marketing and Peter Huston will join the committee and remain as the in-house general counsel.
Andrew Forrest remains chief executive.
In a statement, FMG said the restructure is a commitment to complete the first stage ramp up to a stable and profitable business and expand its iron ore operation as opportunities develop.
