We have just adjusted our hours and reduced the office support by three hours a week and no longer open on weekends as the business cannot afford any further increases in costs with reduced turnover and fee discounting continuing. Net achievement by forcing business to increase one of their two largest expenses above inflation will more than likely be a reduction in hours across the board.

Economy performing relatively well? Not what all the reports say. The RBA and bank economists talk about subdued growth, lack of spending as wages continue to stagnate, etc. I sometimes wonder where the Fair Work Commission gets its data. I know I haven't had a pay rise in four years, and we have reduced our discretionary spend. Look at all the empty retail premises on Beaufort Street, Subiaco, etc.
