Grange Resources managing director Richard Mehan has stepped down, following the company's decision to close its Perth office and move administrative operations to Tasmania, where its mining operation is based.

Chief operating officer Wayne Bould has taken over the role.

The company said it continues to seek an equity partner in return for a strategic stake in its Southdown magnetite project, near Albany.
