PERTH-BASED healthcare equipment company Medec has released a product called the Calorie-Fit to measure metabolism and energy consumption.
In Australia, the Calorie-Fit is sold via Medec’s Athlegen subsidiary from retail shops in each capital city.
The Calorie-Fit uses the Medec Biograph software platform, which analyses how a person utilises food, based on the principles of indirect calorimetry.
The system compares the consumption of oxygen with the production of carbon dioxide and shows a breakdown of the amount of glucose and fat that each individual is using for energy.
