McGowan calls on resources companies to do more

Premier Mark McGowan says he would like the resources companies that make large profits out of the state's resources to do more when it comes to paying tax and fulfilling other corporate responsibilities, such as providing local jobs and content.

The comments follow a Federal Court ruling against oil and gas giant Chevron, whose Australian operations are in Western Australia, which has been handed a $300 million bill and could face more costs from the Australian Taxation Office over its tax arrangements.

"I would like to see them do more, I would like to see them held to account for all of the tax they should be paying," Mr McGowan told 6PR radio.
