IIR Executive Development will host Minimise your Costs and Risks in Managing Complex Assets over August 26 to 27 at the Mercure Hotel.
The two-day course is designed for senior management teams, financial controllers, maintenance management and project management teams, information systems managers strategic planners and asset and operations managers.
The course facilitator will be Dr Bob Platfoot, an Australian specialist in asset management and maintenance methods.
Over the course of his career Dr Platfoot has worked in improving the competitiveness of companies by changing their asset management strategies and process capabilities and he continues to write and research innovations in maintenance and process engineering.
The key learning objectives and outcomes include developing a credible and provable long-term cost plan to sustain your complex asset base, tracking the functional requirements and mission plan for the major equipment and integrating knowledge of the equipment design into the asset management process.
In addition determining practical solutions to non-compliance or deviation from the capability requirement, implementing a risk management process that evaluates true cost-effectiveness of multiple solutions and providing hard data on the financial and risk consequences of budget cuts will also be covered.
The course will be completed with analysing historical maintenance spending and using this as a cost baseline from which to compare forward expenditure requests, and developing integrated annual budgets for engineering and design, capital works and maintenance.
