Managed funds jump 6.5%

THE managed funds market was valued at more than $560 billion in the December quarter – an increase of 6.5 per cent on the previous quarter.

The top ten managers account for 60 per cent of the industry according to ASSIRT Research.

AMP remained in the number one position in terms of total assets under management with 10 per cent of the market.

Colonial (including Colonial First State) showed the largest increase in the quarter, with total assets under management increasing 16 per cent from $43.5 billion in the September quarter to $50 billion in December.

In terms of managed retail assets, the top manager was BT Funds Management with almost 10 per cent of the market or $18

billion under management.
