The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is calling for public submissions relevant to a scoping study for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Australia and Malaysia.
At a trade meeting in July the two countries agreed they would “conduct parallel scoping studies of an FTA between Australia and Malaysia”. The studies are to be completed in the first quarter of 2005. They will provide a basis for the Australian and Malaysian governments to decide whether to proceed to negotiate a bilateral FTA.
