Linc Integrated Marketing and Communication is on a major national and international expansion push after acquiring Melbourne design firm Paramount.
Linc will beef-up its Melbourne office and aims to establish an office in Hong Kong within 18 months.
According to Linc managing director John Carlson, the purchase of Paramount helped bring in $1 million of new business to the company’s Melbourne office.
“We’ve also picked up hundreds of thousands of dollars in web work and a lot of PR work,” Mr Carlson said.
“Current proposals suggest that an equivalent figure will be added within the next six months.”
Linc has had a small office in Melbourne since 2002 employing two people.
Now, two new employees will join the 12 former Paramount employees in an expanded Melbourne operation.
He said Paramount had been very active in the Hong Kong market and, while work there had tapered off, there were enough contacts to make a concerted push into the Asian advertising market.
“They [Paramount] had the Adidas account but lost it. They didn’t think the office was viable after that but they do some work there and they have the contacts,” Mr Carlson said.
“We will open a Linc office there within 12 to 18 months. That will provide a footstep into Asia, that’s where the future lies. When you go to the east coast all the headquarters are there; all the budgets are there and all the decision-makers are there. It’s the same in Asia, only it’s much bigger.”
