The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting a corporate luncheon with two expert economic commentators, ANZ’s chief economist Saul Eslake and CCI consultant Dr Mike Nahan, December 7 at the CCI Function Centre in East Perth. Mr Eslake will provide guests with a prognosis of the outlook for the WA resources sector, covering issues including: the outlook for economic growth, globally and nationally; the rise of China and India; capacity constraints such as inflation, wages and material costs; and the economic outlook for the US, Japan and EU. Dr Nahan will then give an insight into the key policy challenges in sustaining the boom and its benefits, including: sustaining the boom in an age of ‘sustainable’ development; people – attracting and keeping the most crucial resource; government – keeping it focuses, effective and lean; and industry and diversification - building on and diversifying from strength. Registration for this 12pm luncheon costs $99 for CCI members and $121 for non members. For more information contact CCI on 9365 7500 or email functions@cciwa.com.
