Main Roads awards $17m contract

Central Earthmoving has secured a contract for the construction of 4.5 kilometres of new carriageway and new traffic lights on the Great Northern Highway.

The works will take place between Muchea and Wubin and also encompass 1.7km of construction and realignment of side roads.

The approximately value of the contract is $17.1 million.

Central Earthmoving beat out one other submission to secure the works.

The company is based in Geraldton.

The contract was awarded by Main Roads Western Australia, and there is no time limit on the works.
