Contract miner Macmahon Holdings has announced a series of new deals worth a combined $90 million.
Under the new deals, Macmahon will provide pre-development work to construct haul roads adjacent to BHB Billiton’s Wheelarra mine; mining oprations and ore re-handling at Newmont’s Boddington gold mine; and underground development works at Newcrest’s Cadia Valley operation.
Macmahon will also perform production drilling, cablebolting and shotcreting at Panoramic Resources’ Savannah project.
Macmahon chief executive Nick Bowen said the contracts were important expansions of the work it was already undertaking on the projects.
“Our strong relationships, safe operations and high quality work delivered to each of these key clients, have enabled Macmahon to secure these additional opportunities,” Mr Bowen said in a statement.
“The strength and depth of services provided across both the surface and underground areas of our business highlight the diversity in offerings we provide to the resources sector.
Mr Bowen said the company had secured more than $1 bilion in new contracts since the beginning of the 2012 financial year.
