Doray Minerals has awarded Maca a $14 million contract for open-pit mining work at its Deflector gold project in the Murchison region.
The scope of work involves open pit mining services including drilling, blasting, loading and hauling over about 11 months beginning February.
Maca chief executive Chris Tuckwell said the contract win built on a strong working relationship with Doray, having just completed works on the gold miner’s Andy Well project.
It’s the second contract Doray has handed out for work on Deflector in the past week, after it finalised terms of a $51 million deal with GR Engineering Services last Tuesday for design and construction of a gold and copper mineral processing plant at Deflector.
Maca shares were 0.8 per cent higher to 86.7 cents each, while Doray shares rose 4.8 per cent to 54.5 cents each at 9:45am.
