MacMahon wins Darwin waterfront contract

LOCAL engineering company Macmahon Holdings has been awarded a contract worth $94.6 million by Darwin Cove Convention Centre for infrastructure works associated with the Darwin City Waterfront development. The work will involve engineering and construction of the marine, civil, earthworks and a bridge link to Darwin’s central business district. Work is scheduled to commence this month, MacMahon said, with the contract expected to run for two years. The work, which is part of a larger $600 million development of the waterfront area, was originally bid for by MacMahon’s recent acquisition, Henry Walker Eltin Construction’s Northern Territory civil contracting business.
