MMA wins $100m Chevron contract

MMA Offshore has won a contract to supply its marine logistics and supply base services for Chevron’s operations in the north-west, in a deal worth $100 million.

The scope of work includes operations planning and management for vessel mooring, load and discharge, freight and material management, and dedicated laydown and staging areas for Chevron, which operates the Wheatstone and Gorgon projects in the Pilbara.

“Additionally, the scope requires the provision of technical capabilities including heavy lifting operations, the provisions of quarantine inspection and remediation services and management of a number of third party services,” MMA said in a statement.

The contract has a two-year term with an option to extend for a further year and will provide employment for between 25 and 35 staff.

“MMA is looking forward to working in partnership with Chevron to deliver the scope of services in a safe, reliable and cost-effective manner,” managing director Jeff Weber said.

MMA shares were 9 per cent higher to 60.5 cents a share at 11:45am.
