MCS, Wilson win $4m in security contracts

Joondalup-based MCS Services has been awarded a $2.5 million state government contract to provide security patrol services at Hillarys Boat Harbour.

Under the 12-month contract, awarded by the Department of Transport, MCS will patrol the harbour as well as jetties, beaches, public access areas and car parks.

MCS beat six other submissions for the works.

The contract includes four 12-month extension options.

The company announced earlier this month it had won a tender to provide security services at “a major WA tourist destination”.

Chief executive Paul Simmons said MCS had provided security at the site for many years.

MCS also recently announced it had secured 18-month extensions, worth $1.5 million, for three existing shopping centre contracts.

Established in 2005, MCS also provides security services to regional Western Australia and Northern Territory.

Meanwhile, Wilson Parking has secured a $1.5 million contract with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services for security and monitoring at the Emergency Services complex in Cockburn.

Wilson will provide on-site security services at the complex, located at 20 Stockton Bend, as well as alarm monitoring services for various Department of Fire and Emergency Services sites.

The contract has an initial expiry of February 2021, with options to extend to February 2024.

Wilson beat 12 submissions for the works.
