FORMER counsel assisting the Royal Commission into the Building and Construction Industry, Toni Lucev, has been named as the first Perth-based federal magistrate. One of the three new appointments nationally, Mr Lucev has practised as a barrister in Western Australia since 1999, mainly in the areas of industrial relations and employment law. From 2001 to 2002, Mr Lucev was Counsel Assisting the Royal Commission into the Building and Construction Industry. In other appointments, CCIWA IR executive Bruce Williams has been made a commissioner of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission. He takes up the position during August.
