Lotterywest provides $1.35m. WESTERN Australians in financial hardship are set to benefit from $1.35 million provided under Lotterywest’s 2005-06 Emergency Relief Program. A total of 79 organisations will benefit from the program, which distributes grants to groups providing emergency and crisis support to those most disadvantaged in the community. While the bulk of the grants ($1.04 million) will be shared among 75 agencies throughout the state for the provision of crisis welfare support, a further $310,000 will be distributed to a number of specific projects. Charity Link will receive $130,000 for the coordination of its Christmas and Winter Appeals, and two agencies providing emergency relief to inpatients of six public hospitals will receive $120,000. The WA Council of Social Services will receive $40,000 for its Emergency Relief Forum, and the RSL will be granted $20,000 towards the welfare support of veterans and their families. Lotterywest has provided almost $15 million since 1990 through its Emergency Relief Program.
