Engineering and mining services firm LogiCamms has announced the acquisition of Perth-based Power Supply Services and Training for an undisclosed sum, in a move to upgrade its workforce development capabilities.
The company said today the capabilities within PSST and Competency Training, LogiCamm’s registered training organisation, were highly complementary and would allow the company to offer unique training solutions.
PSST specialises in electrical training, procedure development and auditing and inspection services, primarily in Western Australia’s resources sector.
It was established in 1997, and its revenue for FY2011 was around $2.3 million, LogiCamms said.
LogiCamms director of strategy, mergers and acquisitions Karsten Guster said the acquisition was an important milestone in building the company’s capabilities despite not being financially material.
“The investment is supported by a strong demand nationally for niche training services, particularly within the mining and energy sectors,” Mr Guster said.
At 1:00PM (WST) LogiCamms stock was steady at 80 cents.
