Local training commitment

FOR the first time since 1986 an Advertising Federation of Australia Graduate Trainee Program placement has been advertised in Perth.

The Brand Agency has advertised a nine-month traineeship to commence next year and, while The Brand Agency managing director Ken James said (pictured above) there was no guarantee of ongoing employment, experience of recent years has shown that up to 85 per cent of trainees remain with the training company.

“This traineeship is about taking the best young graduate in the market and giving him or her the training, the tools, the direction and the confidence to step up and learn from some of the best in the Perth industry,” Mr James said.

During the nine-month program the successful candidate will rotate through account management, strategic planning, media, creative, TV and print production, direct and Internet marketing, PR and finance.

The program has been running for over 20 years. Former trainees include LOVE CEO and head of strategy Julian Martin, M&C Saatchi head of creative Matt Cumming, and Clemenger BBDO client services director Jane Conner.
