A WA building company has beaten competition from New South Wales and Victoria to win an export award at last week’s Master Builders Association National Awards in Victoria.
Western Ladders, a subsidiary of Dale and Shaw Builders, won the prize for its export of ladders and specialised timber products in the category of ‘Building Materials and Manufacturers Under $25 million’.
Company director Robert Shaw, who travelled to Melbourne to accept the prize, said he was surprised and excited with the win.
Mr Shaw said revenue had doubled each year since Western Ladders started four years ago.
He said the company’s export revenue was expected to exceed $1 million this year.
Western Ladders was set up primarily for exports, with destinations currently including Malaysia, Japan and Egypt.
Mr Shaw said the company was looking to expand operations in the Middle East and would embark on a trade mission to Dubai in November.
