Listed companies worth $100bn-plus

WESTERN Australian listed companies are worth a total market capitalisation of more than $100 billion with an increase from $97.9 billion to $103.2 billion in April being recorded by Deloitte The 5.4 per cent growth in value of listed WA companies on the Deloitte WA Index was more than double that of the ASX All Ordinaries, which increased 2.4 per cent for the month. WA companies have experienced total growth of 58 per cent in the past 12 months. Deloitte Perth managing partner Keith Jones said the main driver for April 2006 was the mining sector, to which market capitalisation growth of $2.8 billion could be attributed. Since May 2000, mining companies included in the Deloitte WA Index have experienced a total growth of 473 per cent.
