The Lions Eye Institute is the largest eye research institute in the southern hemisphere. It leads igating cataract, diabetes, glaucoma, retinal degenerations, artifical cornea and laser gene therapies. It houses Australia’s largest eye medical practice and WA’s Eye Bank. The institute delivers a substantial medical training program and supports community services to detect and prevent blinding eye diseases.

Ian Constable: (founder) Professor Constable established the Lions Eye Institute in Perth in 1983.
For almost 30 years he has developed links throughout South East Asia and is president of the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology. He is the author of more than 300 peer-reviewed papers.
Professor Constable is also chairman of the Premier’s Science Council

Gary Angove: Mr Angove is a partner at financial services firm Ernst & Young.
John Atkins: Mr Atkins is a partner at Perth’s largest law firm Freehills.
Michelle Dolin: Ms Dolin is CEO of the Government Employees’ Superannuation Board. She has also held senior executive positions at Challenge Bank and BankWest.
William Bloking: Mr Bloking is vice president and director of the North West Shelf BHP Billiton Operations group.
David Eiszele: Chairman of Global Carbon and council member of the Australian Insitute of Company Directors. Mr Eiszele is probably best known for his role as Western Power managing director, a position he stepped down from fairly recently and his opposition to the Government’s plan to break the utility up.
