Transport and logistics firm Linfox says it will develop a $68 million "supersite" on eight hectares of industrial land in Hazelmere.

Transport and logistics firm Linfox says it will develop a $68 million "supersite" on eight hectares of industrial land in Hazelmere.

Linfox chief executive Michael Byrne said the development would be a state of the art facility designed to support the state's booming resources sector.

Mr Byrne said the new facility built on Linfox's investment in logistics services in Western Australia over the past two years.

"By 2013 our investment in specialised fleet, property and equipment will exceed $200 million," Mr Byrne said.

"This is a major advance in our specialisation for the resources sector. Linfox has raised the bar in quality service for the industry and has developed a reputation for operational excellence and safety."

Linfox also has acquired a site in Port Hedland and has an access agreement in place for a facility in Newman to meet its customers' needs in the Pilbara.

"We are considering four further property developments in Karratha, Dampier, Broome and Darwin in the coming year," Mr Byrne said.

"We will build the freight network capacity to manage long term growth in the industry."
