KOJONUP has beaten a strong field of regional finalists to be named the State winner of the Tidy Town Awards 2004.
Other regional winners were:
• Hopetoun;
• Looma in the Kimberley region;
Pannawonica;
• Boddington in the Peel region;
• Collie in the South West region;
• Exmouth in the Gascoyne ;
• Dongara in the Mid-West; and
• Wickepin in the Wheatbelt.
Environment Minister Judy Edwards said Kojonup had displayed outstanding achievements in all categories of the awards.
"Kojonup has been able to promote strong community involvement among a broad range of people and this has contributed to the town’s win," Dr Edwards said.
