Brian Gilbertson's Jupiter Mines has appointed a new chief executive after incumbent Richard Mehan announced his resignation.
Jupiter chief operation officer Greg Durack will take up the helm of the company, effective immediately.
Mr Mehan, who was formerly Cliff Resources’ Asia Pacific president and chief executive, will remain with the company to allow for a smooth transition.
Mr Mehan joined Jupiter in May 2011.
Jupiter is looking to develop iron ore projects in Western Australia's central Yilgarn, near Southern Cross, and holds significant manganese assets in South Africa.
The company also owns the Klondyke gold project, near Marble Bar.
