Frank Edwards has been chief executive officer of the City of Perth since April 2002. Prior to this he was executive manager, customer services, and then chief executive officer at the Town of Kwinana.
Before entering local government, Mr Edwards was a career Army officer, rising to the rank of colonel. In the Army, he served in command, staff and instructional postings in Australia, the US and Papua New Guinea. After leaving the army, he continued to hold the rank of brigadier until December 2003.
He is a graduate of the Royal Military College, Duntroon, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New South Wales and a graduate diploma in strategic studies. He is also a graduate of the Army Command and Staff College and the Joint Services Staff College.
