THE Australian Institute of Company Directors has named Janet Holmes a Court the recipient of the 2007 WA gold medal award. The award is presented annually to a director who embodies the values of excellence and integrity and encourages the highest ethical standards. AICD’s WA president, Fiona Harris, said Mrs Holmes a Court fulfilled the council’s criteria of making a contribution to economic progress, corporate governance, the community and not-for-profit organisations. Mrs Holmes a Court has chaired the family company, Heytesbury Pty Ltd, since 1991 following the death of her husband, Robert. It has interests in wine, cattle and construction. She is also a director of Vision 2020 Australia, Rio Tinto WA Future Fund, Australian Children’s Television Foundation, John Holland Group, Urban Design Centre of WA, WA Symphony Orchestra and Tourism Western Australia.
