Skytrax Airport Lounge of the Year

World’s best airline lounge – Emirates Airlines, first and business class lounges at Dubai International Airport.

Emirates reports it has now received more than 200 international awards since it was established in 1985.

In 2003 it has received a silver award for airline of the year, best economy class and best airline to the Middle East accolades, and passenger service airline of the year from Air Transport World, USA.

The company has also won an eighth consecutive best air cargo carrier for the Middle East award.

Last week, Emirates began daily non-stop Perth-Dubai services.

WA Firefighter of the Year

Nominations are open for WA’s firefighter of the year awards, sponsored by RAC Insurance and the Rotary Club of Whitfords.

Members of the public are invited to nominate a firefighter, brigade or team from WA’s 20,000 volunteer and 850 career firefighters.

Nomination forms are available from FESA, fire stations, major tertiary hospitals, RAC branches, local governments and libraries.

Nominations close August 1.

Western Australian Environment Awards

These awards are now open for nominations in 15 categories.

They are open to any resident or group of residents of WA; organisations, institutions, schools or businesses operating in WA; and State or local government authorities.

Nominations close June 12, and submissions August 15.

Western Australian Industry and Export Awards
