Former Charter Hall leader Matt Brunsdon will head JLL’s new logistics and industrial sales and leasing team following the exit of several members to Cushman & Wakefield.
Mr Brunsdon spent eight years heading the industrial asset and property management for Charter Hall’s Western Australian and South Australian markets.
Brett Mathanda will return to JLL as director of the logistics and industrial team, after a stint with the Department of Finance.
Mr Mathanda was a director at JLL from 2017 to 2022.
JLL industrial team associate director Chris Monterosso has joined from CBRE, where he spent five years, including two as associate director.
Other appointments in the industrial team include executive Luke Schreier and analyst Paige Palmer, who were promoted internally within JLL.
Business News previously reported that rival firm Cushman & Wakefield has poached JLL’s industrial team.
Industrial property expert Nick Goodridge, executives Alec Di Lollo and Emma Quill, and team co-ordinator Melissa Haines, all from JLL, joined Cushman & Wakefield’s WA industrial arm last month.
JLL WA managing director Angelo Amara said securing Mr Brunsdon to lead the team into the next phase was a massive coup for the firm.
“His knowledge and connectivity through both the institutional and private investor landscape are both exceptional and he embodies the collegiate spirit that remains the key point of difference for our business,” he said.
“Matt will take our industrial capability to the next level.”
Mr Brunsdon said the new team structure consolidated the diverse range of experience across sales and leasing.
“Strong local economic fundamentals continue to drive demand for logistics and industrial space, and the team is well-positioned to assist our clients to leverage this opportunity through the national platform including market-leading research, occupier and supply chain teams and services,” he said.
JLL national head of logistics and industrial Peter Blade said the new team under Mr Brunsdon’s leadership would enhance its platform.
“Having a truly connected team with a sophisticated understanding of industrial assets, market dynamics and access to national and global tenants will greatly benefit our clients in this high demand market and I couldn’t be more excited to have them on board,” he said.
