Is forgiveness going overboard?

Can Alan Bond ever be forgiven? If sentiment surrounding plans to re-float and send Australia 11 off to Cowes for a fun sailing regatta is any guide, he my well be on the road to redemption.

Warren Jones was singing praises of the plan last week. All he needs is the blessing of the Federal and State Governments, plus a bit of the folding stuff (donations welcome).

Now what could possibly top off the sight of Australia 11 slipping through the sloppy waves off Cowes, that watery home of English gentry?

How about watching our Alan, shoreside, give his famous double arm, upward lifting motion to raise the tarpaulins which once hid the winged keels from prying eyes.

Time and forgiveness are the issues. Will he be free from Her Majesty’s guest house in time and will the punters forgive him for nicking $1 billion of their hard-earned readies. Yes and yes seem to be popular answers.
