BHP Billiton Iron Ore has committed $2 million to improving community amenity west of the Port Hedland hospital through investment in greening programs.
The scheme is designed to compliment the Products and Capacity Expansion Project by improving aesthetics of the down town Port Hedland area and importantly helping to reduce dust.
The scheme is different to the PH Enhancement Scheme that BHPBI is investing $4.5 million in.
BHPB has also announced $1.5 million in new funding over the next three years for the national Revive Our Wetlands environmental program.
