Internet helps Lamac snare award

THE Internet has played a major role in helping the Bunbury-based Lamac Group win the annual Telstra Small Business of the Year Award.

Lamac Group general manager Kevin MacDonald described the Internet as the most important development for business in the past decade.

The company uses Internet extensively during its operations that focus on the construction industry, particularly plumbing, drainage and dewatering.

“If we have a problem, we can photograph the particular site with a digital camera, send the image on the Internet and discuss the issues from the office in Bunbury with the people on the spot,” Mr MacDonald said. “We are now looking to apply this knowledge to other markets including Singapore and China.”
