Workers' compensation changes coming into effect today will have significant and immediate impact on employers and workplace practices, warns the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA.
CCIWA said the primary areas of change are injury management, common law, specialised retraining programs, termination of injured workers, and dispute resolution. There are also implications for deemed employers in contractual arrangements.
From today all employers must comply with the Workers' Compensation Code of Practice (Injury Management) 2005 by establishing and implementing an injury management system and formal return to work programs.
