According to the AME ‘Steel 2003: Flat Products Production Costs’, report China’s industrial expansion and domestic economic growth will continue to underpin record level production within the global steel industry.

Steel producers, however, are facing challenges from volatile price cycles.

Prices are expected to rise further in the second quarter 2003, but are likely to drop in the third.
