PERTH businessman Jonathan Huston has sold Parkside Towbars, a Welshpool vehicle accessories business he owned in partnership with lawyer John Groppoli. Parkside, which manufactures towbars and roobars in Perth, as well as importing other specialist products, and had a turnover of about $7 million, was bought by US-owned automotive products group TriMas and will be incorporated into its Australian Hayman Reese business. Mr Huston confirmed the sale and said he would be remaining as a consultant to the business, which is looking to expand its range and extend its reach into the mining sector. Mr Huston was involved in the growth of well-known window treatment business Tint-a-car, which was sold to multi-national investors a decade ago. He is also the major shareholder of the Croissant Express lunch bar chain.
