In Brief: Fremantle museum gets funding boost

THE City of Fremantle has received a grant of just more than $450,000 from the state government towards the restoration of the Fremantle History Museum and Arts Centre. The funding will be used for stage four conservation works, which will include completion of the Ord Street façade and a central courtyard upgrade. Earlier this year, the museum received a $106,000 gift from Lotterywest for stage three works, used to upgrade the Arts Centre’s outdoor performance area. City of Fremantle chief executive officer Graeme Mackenzie said the stage three and four works would be completed as one project.
