PERTH-BASED engineering companies Clough and GRD have been awarded major contracts on Western Australian resources projects. Apache Energy has awarded Clough a $200 million contract for installation of the Reindeer gas field’s offshore facilities. Clough has already been named the main contractor for the development of Apache’s onshore gas processing facilities at the proposed Devil Creek plant, in the Pilbara. “Apache Energy has placed significant trust in Clough to execute this important Western Australian domestic gas project and we will work diligently to deliver to their satisfaction,” Clough chief executive John Smith said. Engineering work will commence immediately with offshore construction planned for the second half of 2009 for completion by the end of the year. Meanwhile, GRD Minproc and BHP Billiton have signed an ongoing services agreement over the latter’s Ravensthorpe nickel operation.
