A SUBIACO-BASED consulting firm launched this week says the global financial crisis has provided it with an opportunity to ensure other companies survive the downturn. Icecap Consulting general manager Amanda Shirley said one of the drivers in launching the company was to provide support to small to medium enterprises which may not have the depth of in-house expertise Icecap can offer. “We would have probably 100 years of experience between the five business partners,” Mrs Shirley said. Her partners at Icecap are lawyer Steve Pent, recruiter Brian Briscoe, Muzz Buzz director Warren Reynolds and accountant Glenn Montague, who will combine their existing business interests with the new venture. “We have that financial background, we have legal, corporate governance compliance, we have human resources and we also have marketing,” Mrs Shirley said. She said Icecap offers a variety of different strategic solutions for small to medium enterprises. “We really want to add value and act as an extension to their business and an ongoing partnership, because I think that’s where the value comes for both,” Mrs Shirley said.
